The Government are spending £2 million on a crusade to teach kids that it
is cool to say no to sex.
They might do well to sign up
children's telly favourite Katy Hill for their campaign to cut teenage
pregnancies.
For the super-cool star of
Live & Kicking reveals today that she stayed a virgin until her
wedding night - after making her boyfriend wait 13 years for sex.
Vicar's daughter Katy, a
former host of kid's favourite Blue Peter, is the new presenter of BBC1's
Saturday morning show with 1.8 million viewers a week.
Katy, 29, has been with the
songwriter Andrew Frampton since she was 14. But the couple - both practicing
Christians - waited until their wedding last year before they made love
for the first time.
People at work are surprised
I've been with the same guy for all these years - they think I'm a bit
mad. But I love him to bits.
"I wanted everything to
be perfect and getting married was the perfect way for it to happen to
me. It's fantastic that we knew each other so well before anything
happened for either of us."
Katy's views will encourage
the Government as it launches an advertising blitz in teen magazines.
Slogans such as: "Sex,
Are you thinking about it enough?" will try to convince youngsters
that it is OK to be celibate.
