Virginity

Q1. Do people really wait until they are married or do they just say they do?  Will I be abnormal if I wait?
A. Many young people today are seeing the benefits of saving sex until they are married and are as a result choosing to wait.  This is a very normal and healthy thing to do.  Those who do wait almost never regret it, whereas often those who enter into a sexual relationship too early wish they had waited.

Q2. What does losing your virginity mean and what happens if you lose it?

A. Losing your virginity means having sexual intercourse for the first time.  If you lose your virginity you never can become a virgin again and so it is something very precious to give to another person who must respects you, love you and is “big time” committed to you.

The best commitment is “life long” marriage - two people waiting for each other and being faithful sexually to each other.

If someone has lost their virginity they still can make a choice to wait from that point although it is often more difficult to pull back once you have been sexually active.
